چکیده
Cinnamon (Cinnamomum verumJ.Presl) is a well-known medicinal plant considered as an effective treatment for neurological disorders based on Persian medicine. The aim of the present study was assessing effect cinnamon oil, cinnamic acid, and cinnamaldehyde, in vitromodel Parkinson's disease (PD). prepared sesame phytochemically analyzed using high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). Pheochromocytoma-12 (PC-12) cells were treated with 1-methyl-4-phenyl-1,2,3,6-tetrahydropyridine (MPTP) neurodegeneration PD. Cell viability, activity caspase enzymes, formation reactive oxygen species (ROS) evaluated. MPTP significantly decreased cell viability increased Casp activity, well asROS formation. oil acid at 200 μg/mLcould reverse MPTP-induced abnormalities PC-12 including ROS Our supports beneficial neurodegeneration. Further investigations are needed to clarify mechanisms main active components.

Overexpression of Parkin Ameliorates Dopaminergic Neurodegeneration Induced by 1- Methyl-4-Phenyl-1,2,3,6-Tetrahydropyridine in Mice
Mutations in the parkin gene are currently thought to be the most common cause of recessive familial Parkinsonism. Parkin functions as an E3 ligase to regulate protein turnover, and its function in mitochondrial quality control has been reported recently. Overexpression of parkin has been found to prevent neuronal degeneration under various conditions both in vivo and in vitro. Here, we generat...
متن کاملTherapeutic effects of paeonol on methyl-4-phenyl-1,2,3,6-tetrahydropyridine/probenecid-induced Parkinson's disease in mice
Paeonol is a major phenolic compound of the Chinese herb, Cortex Moutan, and is known for its antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and antitumor properties. The present study was designed to investigate the therapeutic potential and underlying mechanisms of paeonol on a 1-methyl-4-phenyl-1,2,3,6-tetrahydropyridine/probenecid (MPTP/p)-induced mouse model of Parkinson's disease (PD). MPTP (25 mg/kg), f...
متن کاملeffects of l-arginine pre-treatment in 1-methyl-4-phenyl-1,2,3,6-tetrahydropyridine-induced parkinson’s diseases in balb/c mice
background: parkinson’s disease (pd) is a common neurodegenerative disease resulting from the degeneration of dopaminergic (da) neurons in the substantia nigra pars compacta (snc). increasing evidence demonstrated that mice treated intranasally with 1-methyl-4-phenyl-1,2,3,6-tetrahydropyridine (mptp) suffered impairments in motor functions associated with disruption of da neurons in snc conceiv...
متن کاملElevated interleukin-1beta induced by 1-methyl-4-phenyl-1,2,3,6-tetrahydropyridine aggravating dopaminergic neurodegeneration in old male mice.
IL-1beta is a potent pro-inflammatory cytokine that regulates neuroinflammation during brain damage. The expression of IL-1beta has been reported to be elevated in the striatum and substantia nigra of patients with Parkinson's disease (PD). Moreover, greater prevalence of PD in men than in women is described previously. Here, by using a sensitive mice model in which the expression of luciferase...
متن کاملPoly(ADP-ribose) polymerase activation mediates 1-methyl-4-phenyl-1, 2,3,6-tetrahydropyridine (MPTP)-induced parkinsonism.
1-Methyl-4-phenyl-1,2,3,6-tetrahydropyridine (MPTP) is a neurotoxin that causes parkinsonism in humans and nonhuman animals, and its use has led to greater understanding of the pathogenesis of Parkinson's disease. However, its molecular targets have not been defined. We show that mice lacking the gene for poly(ADP-ribose) polymerase (PARP), which catalyzes the attachment of ADP ribose units fro...
